I have been developing a script for three years that I am fairly sure is unfundable in its current form, and I keep writing it anyway.

The commercial version I keep resisting

Every note I get suggests the same fix: a clearer villain, a tidier third act, a protagonist who wants something simpler. Each note would probably make the film easier to finance. Each note would also make it a different, lesser film.

Every note that makes it easier to fund makes it a smaller film.
